The meaning of Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day is an ancient holiday of love, bliss and romance combined. No one really has a clue to how it originated. We do know that a Bishop named Valentine was supposedly the instigator of this romantic day some 1000 years ago.  Thus, St. Valentine’s Day was born.

Lovers celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14 along with newlyweds and engaged couples. As we explore the many facets of Valentine’s Day, I’m going to list some love stories that lend credence to the celebration. A few of them are Love Story, Casablanca, Titanic, The Way We Were, Sleepless In Seattle and many more too numerous to name. Most of these love stories highlight an enduring love with words whispered on the breeze and into the waiting ear of a loved one. Romance abounds on this day with presents of candy, flowers and the beautiful cards with touching love poems.

Young and old celebrate love on Valentine’s Day, whispered promises passing between each and recharging love affairs that have fallen to the wayside during the rest of the year. Marriages, as well as engagements take place on this special day.

Cupid is a symbol, with his little bow and arrow ready to shoot someone in the heart and fill them with an everlasting love. Little candies, with ‘Be Mine, Be My Valentine, Always Yours and I love You’ are special messages lovers try to convey to one another.

I plot all of my books with lovers in mind. Every story has to have a HEA ending. Some of my books are erotic contemporary romances and the sweet mainstream romance. I love a well-written love story.
