New Covers!

I’ve been busy over the past couple of weeks. Mostly with the release of Virtually Guarded, book 1 of the new Virtual Haven Pack series, which came out on Thursday, Sept. 10. So far, some readers are loving the story of transgender werewolf Ren Torres and his mate, gentle giant bodyguard Xavier Pelly. Some readers aren’t happy with it, and some are indifferent, which is to be expected.

In addition to that release, I spent a few days putting together some covers for upcoming releases, and now that I’ve shared two of the three with my newsletter subscribers, I’m going to share them here.

The first cover is for my November 12 release, Housebound, about a psychic agoraphobic dollhouse maker and the customer whose dollhouse holds the key to a decades-old missing persons case. I love this cover for two reasons: The dollhouse on it is actually mine, one I spent several weeks finishing from a kit-built but undecorated dollhouse I found at a thrift shop last winter; and the “ghost” in front of the dollhouse is my grandson, picture used with the permission of his parents.

The second cover is one I’m excited about. When I released book 4 of the Ebb & Flow series, Return and Restore, a couple of readers asked if Silas Creighton, one of the major secondary characters in that series, would ever get his own book. I thought not, because Silas is stated (in book 3 of the series) to be asexual and aromantic, but then my imagination took over and the first draft of Silas’s story, in which he finds his fated mate and isn’t quite sure what to do about it, flowed out in under 3 weeks. That book, His Unexpected Mate, will be out on January 14 and marks the beginning of another new series, Werewolves of Canada.

And finally, the cover I didn’t share with my subscribers. I’m honestly undecided about what to do with this story. Enthralling a Fae is currently either a long short story or a very short novella, at just under 15,000 words, about an on-set teacher whose “hey, it’s that actor” crush turns out to be a fae. Originally, I was planning to offer it as a free read to attract new newsletter subscribers, but it really has nothing to do with most of what I write, other than being a paranormal romance. (There are no werewolves whatsoever.) I could release it for sale as it is. I could expand it into a longer novella and then release it for sale. Or I could go with my original plan. It’s to be determined, but meanwhile, I did the cover. And if you have a suggestion of which option I should take with this story, I’d love to hear it!
