And as often occurs, that’s led to me not keeping up with blogging, though I didn’t realize it had been an entire month since the last time I posted!
So, what’s been going on with me…
- I finished the first draft of Virtually Guarded, book 1 of my new Virtual Haven Pack series. This book gave me struggles and opposition and I thought for a little bit that I was never going to be able to write it the way I wanted it. But I finished it, thanks in part to Heated Rivalry. Turns out watching and reading male/male romance gets me in the right mood to *write* male/male romance. Who would have guessed? Virtually Guarded will go up for preorder this summer, to coincide with the release of Real Werewolves Don’t Eat Meat 10; Virtual Haven Pack is a spin-off series that has its genesis in RW10. Meanwhile, it’s already gone through a sensitivity read to make sure I’m depicting Ren Torres, a transgender man, appropriately; the sensitivity reader said the only thing they found “offensive” was that the book ended. Which I’m taking as a good sign.
- I’ve completed the first round of edits on Figs till the End, the aforementioned Real Werewolves Don’t Eat Meat 10. That book is available for preorder and will be released July 9, and currently it’s the final book of the Real Werewolves Don’t Eat Meat series. I won’t rule out future books with Kyle Slidell and Tobias Rogan as main characters (I did that once, and they overruled me), but for the time being, I am not planning any additional books with them as the leads. They will, of course, still make appearances in other werewolf-related books, particularly the Virtual Haven Pack series.
- My novella A Wolf-Changing Incident is releasing this Thursday, March 12! The files are uploaded, reviewers will hopefully be releasing their reviews, and we’ll see how it goes.
- I’ve finished all rounds of editing and proofreading on Return and Restore, book 4 of my Ebb & Flow series, which will release May 7. This was going to be the last book of Ebb & Flow, but I’ve kind of fallen back in love with main characters Quinn Boucher and Malachi Powers, so there may be more of the series to come. (It wouldn’t be until 2027, though; I’ve already filled my release slots for 2026.)
- Currently, speaking of Quinn and Malachi, I’m working on what I think is going to be a novella (unless they make it longer than I want) depicting their first meeting. That first meeting happens in Real Werewolves Don’t Eat Meat 6, Take Some Tahini, but is only seen from Tobias Rogan’s point of view. At least one reader took issue with the fact that Ebb and Flow (book 1 of the Ebb & Flow series) showed Quinn and Malachi reuniting after some time apart, but didn’t show them actually meeting and recognizing each other as mates. My original plan was to write a *short story* that I would release for free and also add to the beginning of Ebb and Flow…but it’s already longer than a short story, and they haven’t even actually met yet, because I felt like I needed to set the context for why Quinn is in Nova Scotia and what happens leading up to Malachi randomly showing up someplace that he has no real reason to be. So it probably won’t be included as bonus material in future editions of Ebb and Flow, but I still might release it for free. Or not. To be determined.
So that’s about it. Maybe I’ll blog again soon… I’m really not great at blogging, so if you want to keep up with what I’m doing, you can follow me on Facebook or subscribe to my newsletter, which will also give you some free reads!
